​Cappel's Ace Hardware

Doug Cappel grew up in Atlantic, Iowa, and graduated from the University of Iowa. Shortly after, he married Jen Cappel. After moving around different spots in the country, they settled down in Des Moines and had two kids, Maddie and Alex.

Jen retired from teaching at Des Moines Christian School to work full time at the stores managing inventory and accounting. Maddie graduated from the University of Iowa in 2019 and works at the store managing HR. Alex is a Senior at the University of Iowa. 

Cappel's Ace Hardware is very much a family business, and at times it can be all hands on deck to make sure that your neighborhood hardware store is ready for holidays, inclement weather, and all of your other project needs.
